IKO Assistant Instructor Course

Sudwindsports organises a 3-day training program, held all through the season, in which you improve your personal level, learn to assist the instructor and teach basic skills of your own. At the end of the program you will receive the IKO Assistant Instructor’s certificate, which enables you to enter the Instructor Training Course or teach in an IKO kitesurfing school all over the world, under the supervision of an IKO level 2 instructor. Before you can enter the course you must make sure that you have:
  • IKO Level 3 riding level: kitesurf for at least 6 months and be able to perform a jump, a controlled turn, switch riding and be able to ride safely between other riders
  • A minimum age of 16 yrs
  • A valid and recent First Aid Certificate (This can also be done with us)

IKO Level-1 Instructor Training Course

First time on the water with a kiteThis 5-day course trains you to become an IKO level-1 kitesurfing instructor. With this international qualification you can work in kitesurfing schools all over the world and enter the next level in the IKO scheme. Before you can enter the course you must make sure that you have:
  • A valid rescue boat licence and good piloting skills
  • A valid and recent First Aid Certificate
  • IKO Level 3 riding level: kitesurf for at least 6 months and be able to perform a jump, a controlled turn, switch riding and be able to ride safely between other riders
  • A IKO Assistant Instructor Certification, or justify teaching experience in a water or aerial sport
  • A minimum age of 18 yrs

RYA level-2 Powerboat Course

To be able to enter the IKO courses you will need to have a Rescue boat driving license. With Sudwindsports you can pass the RYA level-2 Powerboat license (3 days) which enables you to drive boats in any country.

MFA First Aid / CPR Course 

Working in sports industry means that you must have a good knowlegde of first aid procedures. The first aid qualification is a prerequisite for all instructor courses. We have chosen the Medic First Aid system, that teaches you the basic principles of first aid and CPR in one day.
